Bond Revisited: From Russia with Love (1963)

When I was a kid I thought this one was super romantic, and I suppose it had to do a lot with Matt Monroe crooning "From Russia with Love" over James and Tatiania kissing in a boat in Venice. It's pretty picturesque, besides his hand slowly letting go of the film of them 'shagging'. Also the whole bedroom scene - Tatiana: I think my mouth is too big.  James: I think it's a very lovely mouth. It's just the right size - for me anyway! Number of jokes I didn't catch as a child. Many, also the illusions of romance have faded ever so slightly, yeah. Over to the plot. Spectre our international baddie group are in full focus this time orchestrating Tatiana Romanova played by Daniela Bianchi and James meeting. She's been told by 'Number Three' who's still pretending to be a part of the Russian Intelligence Service that she's got to pretty much seduce Mr Bond, besides do as he says at all times, and get him a Russian decoding ma...

Hey 2k16!

"GIVE ME THE OSCAR NOW!" (SPOILERS AHOY BTW) Life has a way of uprooting ones ability to use the internet at times. My social life has been blossoming somewhat terrifyingly due to school and everything else has been put on the shelf for greater things, like actually creating things that I'm somewhat proud of, like a music video that's going to be Twin Peaks' inspired besides Coffee and Cigarettes. I can already hear someone coughing 'hipster' in the distance, though I think nerd is the more fitting term, then again, hipster geek is probably a thing. Let me get to the whole 'oh my god' Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens bit where I start chewing on furniture because I'm so pumped for the rest of this trilogy or endless route of films that Disney will be churning out hopefully to the end of my days (though I'll probably be cranky pants about that at some point 'oh dem raggedy youths with Star Wars VIIIIIIII - I don't know how to d...

Writing's On The Wall

To anyone who knows me I'm a huge Bond fan. It's a nostalgic trip to my childhood where I religiously watched the films again and again on the telly in the right order, dismissing the parody's and other versions that popped up, but always always  singing the themes. I knew and still know all the themes by heart, excluding some that annoyed me more than anything , cough , die another die, cough. When Spectre news started showing up, I was tremendously excited, as Skyfall had been a good one all in all. I was somehow hoping for Adele to show up again, but the news revealed that Sam Smith was going to be the new artist, keeping me quite interested. The title of the song was also given away, making my brain immediately jump to the exploding pen from GoldenEye and Q's terrible joke. Finally yesterday the song was released and it's - - - not so bad. The last couple of years, Bond songs haven't exactly been something to toot ones horn about with the exception of S...
