Selfie (2014)

You can call this is a silent Christmas wish, but it's not particularly quiet in its nature. When I heard of Selfie and saw a clip, I did make a nose crinkle and thought 'meh'. However I suddenly caught up on an episode and was impressed by the nature of the show. This isn't Zoey Dechanel cute, this is actually cute and funny in a very clever way. Karen Gillan is Eliza Dooley who is popular online with loads of followers (instagram etc), but when an embarrassing incident takes place she reevaluates how people view her, requiring assistance from another colleague Henry Higgs played by John Cho. 


This is a modern version of the classic 'My Fair Lady' where Henry Higgins learns Eliza Doolittle, a girl selling flowers on the street to become more lady-like in her speech. However in this version Eliza requires Henry to help her learn to become a better person, and it's not only her who gets an internal makeover. Every supporting character in the show is interesting and amusing, the leads sparkle and you never know what's coming for the pair of them. You're probably wondering 'But Emilie what is your wish?' Oh, Selfie recently got cancelled my dear. Yes, I know. So. Show it your support by watching the other episodes, because seriously guys, it's a fun show!
